The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) launched its Thai Rice Flagship Store on Tmall.com on April 19 to sell Thai rice to Chinese consumers.
“The Thai Rice Flagship Store provides full access for Thai entrepreneurs, farmers, rice exporters and rice products to the e-commerce market in China. Moreover, we are doing research to explore possibilities of distributing other products on this platform,” said Minister of Commerce, Sontirat Sontijirawong.
In addition to launching the Thai Rice Flagship Store, the MoC also launched a campaign to promote durian on Tmall.com and has ongoing policies to promote other Thai fruit, especially those most liked by Chinese consumers, including mangosteen, mango, coconut and custard apple.
