DITP Director-General Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, accompanied by DITP executives, the management team of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand and executives of the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association, met H.E. Saif Abdulla Mohammed Khalfan Alshamisi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Thailand at its Bangkok embassy.
They discussed promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in order to support exports of Thai halal products to the GCC countries and enhance confidence in the standard of Thailand’s halal products worldwide.
In 2017, the UAE was Thailand’s 22nd largest export market with an export value of US$3.1 billion (96.1 billion baht). Key exports were automobiles and auto-parts, fax machines, telephones and parts, gems and jewelry products, air conditioners and parts, and computers and computer parts. Thailand imported US$8.59 billion (266.1 billion baht) of products from the UAE, mainly crude oil, petroleum products, minerals, ships and natural gas.
