More than 500 leading Thai and Chinese companies attended a business matching activity hosted by the DITP and partners at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Hotel in Bangkok on August 24.
“This was a sideline activity of the 6th meeting of the China-Thailand Joint Commission on trade, investment and economic cooperation,” DITP, Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, said. “At this activity, Chinese companies in many sectors including food, agriculture and processed agricultural products, energy, construction, logistics, fintech, innovation, aviation, electronics and e-commerce sought potential Thai business partners. The business matching activity resulted in trade worth US$ 130 million.”
Thai products of most interest included rice and rice products, snacks, fresh fruit, dried fruit, rubber, latex pillows, latex mattresses, fruit juice, seasoning, sauce, cosmetics and logistics service.
“The DITP expects that it will help boost trade value between the two country to US$140 billion in 2020, from over US$73 billion in 2017,” the Director-General added.
