The DITP held a business matching activity from May 14 to 23 in the Thai Pavilion at Cannes, during the world famous film festival, to let Thai filmmakers meet potential business partners.
Twelve prominent Thai film companies held meetings with international film companies, resulting in over US$ 295 million (9.4 billion baht) of trade value, including film co-production between Thai filmmakers and film producers from France, and film copyright sales to buyers from India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and many others.
Participating Thai film companies said this activity helped promote Thailand’s entertainment industry in the international market and increase their business opportunities, therefore, the government should support Thai businesses to continuously join this festival.
