Thai Design Shines at DEmark Show 2023, Elevating Creative Excellence Globally
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) recently organied the 16th Design Excellence Award or DEmark Show 2023 exhibition at ICONSIAM from June 12th to 18th. Under the theme “Brave The Wave of Creation,” the prestigious event showcased works of over 572 applicants across the country to highlight the creative power of Thai design and its potential contribution to the national economy aligned with global trends.
DEmark 2023 received an overwhelming response, with 686 entries submitted across seven categories: industrial craft; gift and decorative items; home and digital appliances; packaging design; surface graphics; HoReCa; and digital services and platforms. Out of these, 572 works were selected for the exhibition, to represent the high potential of Thai design across various industries on the global stage. Visitors at the DEmark Show 2023 had the opportunity to explore innovative Thai designs, fostering creativity and innovation.
The DEmark Show 2023 exhibition not only highlighted the diversity and uniqueness of Thai design but also served as a networking platform for local designers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and exporters. Over the event, Thai designers attracted international buyers, distributors and partners, expanding their market reach and enhancing the export potential of Thai design products.
Over 15 years, DEmark has played a vital role in recognising outstanding designs and their contributions to industry. With a total of 1,081 DEmark awards presented, the competition has consistently promoted excellence in design and fostered innovation within the Thai creative community.
The DITP remains committed to supporting and promoting Thai design through various initiatives, fostering innovation, creativity and international recognition. Led by Director-General Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, the DITP strives to enhance trade competitiveness by promoting value-added creation and aligning businesses with evolving market needs. The DEmark Show 2023 exhibition aimed to make a lasting impression on the global design scene, establishing Thailand as a centre for creativity and design excellence.
