The DITP has advised Thai businesses to penetrate UK markets through online distribution channels as more British people, particularly younger ones, love to shop online.
According to research by Mintel, sales of online groceries in the UK will reach £13.6 billion in 2019 a rise from £12.3 billion in 2018, and up 9% from 2017.
“Thai food and lifestyle products producers and exporters should collaborate with department stores, supermarkets and retailers in the UK, who have online channels to distribute Thai products with special promotions,” DITP’s overseas office in London, Counsellor (Commercial), Ramita Vardhanabhuti said on July 10. “This will also help promote Thai products in the market as well as boosting exports from Thailand to the UK.”
