The DITP, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the ASEAN-Japan Center jointly organised a seminar entitled ‘Functional Textile Standards and Certification for Japan’s Market’ on March 21 in Bangkok to prepare Thai entrepreneurs to develop export products for the Japanese market.
At the seminar, Japanese speakers also provided advice on developing functional textiles for sportswear, workwear and clothing for the elderly.
Meanwhile, Thai entrepreneurs expressed an interest in learning more about textile quality and security evaluation, product certification, and SEK Mark registration process, which is applied to certify antibacterial finished textile products, as they want to export textiles and garments to Japan.
