The DITP exhibited works of the finalists of the Design Excellence Award (DEmark) 2019 at the ICONSIAM from June 1-13.
This year’s DEmark Award contest takes the theme of “Design Is Live!” with the contest held across seven categories: industrial process / industrial craft; gift & decorative items / household items; creative & innovative fashion / apparel / jewelry / textiles; home appliances / equipment and office facilities; packaging design; font / graphics on surface / digital media / identity design; and hotel restaurant / café.
“DEmark began 12 years ago when there were only 171 entries. The number of entries has risen to 685 this year, showing an average annual growth of 30%, proving that Thai entrepreneurs acknowledge the importance of value addition by incorporating good design throughout the process, and applying local wisdom and innovation to make Thai products more attractive,” said DITP Deputy Director-General, Wannaporn Ketudat.
